I’m a husband, a dad of three, a football coach and a golfer who’s still chasing scratch. I also run AJ Group, a specialist recruitment business, and a small property portfolio from Leek in Staffordshire.
I’m not the richest person you’ll read about, and I don’t want to be. I’m someone who’s made most of the mistakes, learned from them, and wants to save you some time and money.

Ten years, in a few lines.
I grew up on the edge of a council estate in North Staffordshire and was on my own financially at 17. I sold phones and cars, then fell into recruitment in 2009.
When I left to start my own firm, I was sued. It took 15 months and £18,000 in legal fees to put behind me. I started AJ in a cupboard under the stairs, paying myself less than £2,000 a month.
Today AJ is a team across six countries. I still get plenty wrong. But I’ve learned a lot about building something you own, and I’d like to pass it on.
